FAQs
- What is a NEXUS letter and how can it help me win my VA disability claim? A nexus letter is a document prepared by a physician or other medical professional that explains how a Veteran’s medical illness or condition is directly related to his military service. A well-written NEXUS letter can strengthen a veteran’s disability claim by providing a clear and documented connection between their current medical condition and their service-connected experiences. It can support the veteran’s case for receiving disability benefits from the VA.
- Can I appeal a VA decision with a NEXUS letter? Yes, a NEXUS letter can be used as part of an appeal if the VA initially denies or rates a disability claim lower than expected. The letter can provide additional evidence to support the veteran’s case during the appeals process.
- Can a NEXUS letter be used for multiple disability claims? Yes, a NEXUS letter can be used to support multiple disability claims if the conditions being claimed are linked to the veteran’s military service. At Patriot NEXUS Letters, we understand the importance of ensuring that the letter clearly addresses each condition and its connection to service.
- How much does the NEXUS letter cost and what is the process? There is a two-part process to receive your NEXUS letter. First, a consultation with the doctor who will be drafting your letter will be scheduled to review your case. At that time, a $250 non-refundable deposit will be collected. After the consultation with the doctor, if you wish to proceed, the remaining $1250 will be collected and you will receive your letter in 1-2 weeks.
- How long does it take to receive my NEXUS letter? Typically your NEXUS letter will be completed within 1-2 weeks. In certain cases, the turnaround time can be expedited (a rush fee applies).
