Local service options
Florida has one of the largest veteran communities in the nation, with military ties stretching from Pensacola and the Eglin and Hurlburt area through Jacksonville, Tampa Bay and South Florida. VA disability claims for Florida veterans are served by the St. Petersburg VA Regional Benefit Office, and several VA health care systems cover the state.
Whether you live in the Panhandle, Central Florida or the Keys, you can work with Patriot NEXUS Letters from home. Our office is in Colorado, not Florida. A free phone discussion, secure record upload and telehealth when an evaluation is involved let us serve veterans across Florida without a trip to our office. Call (844) 368-2757 to discuss your medical evidence.

The St. Petersburg VA Regional Benefit Office serves veterans throughout Florida with benefits information and in-person help.
See the St. Petersburg Regional Benefit OfficeThe Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs provides claims help through veterans' claims examiners, along with state veterans homes and other state benefits.
Visit the Florida Department of Veterans' AffairsVA disability compensation is a federal benefit. Claims from Florida veterans are decided under the same federal rules as claims everywhere else - Title 38 of the U.S. Code and the regulations in 38 C.F.R. Part 3 - not under state law.
Under 38 C.F.R. § 3.159, competent medical evidence is evidence from a person qualified through education, training or experience to offer a medical opinion. VA weighs each opinion on the provider's qualifications and the reasoning given, not on whether the provider lives in Florida.
That is why our licensed physicians (M.D. and D.O.) and clinical psychologists (Psy.D.) can review records and, when an evaluation is involved, meet by secure telehealth with veterans anywhere in Florida. No medical opinion can guarantee a VA decision, and VA makes the final determination on every claim.
Serving veterans in Florida
The VA rarely denies a claim because a veteran is not credible. It denies claims because the file does not contain a medical opinion connecting a current diagnosis to service. That is the gap we close for veterans in Florida.
